My names Robbie, I've never built a lowrider bike before. I've been checking out a website www.chainganglowrider.com for information. My uncle has a mid 70's John Deere bike thats similar to a "krate" bike. He also has a mid 50's cruiser style bike. Just wondering if those would be good bikes to restore, or if I'd be better off ordering a new frame somewhere. Also if anyone has any building tips or suggestions, that would be great!

I got a suggestion but it isn't to restore a bike. You buy sheet metal from say HomeDepot and trim it to cover the area that usually Krate bikes or other bikes used in lowrider and rivet it to your frame that makes it look like if it had a gas tank.
