I bought this one in a local thrift store. It looks like it was stored outside for a year or two. I haven't agreed on what color or final look this will have. So for now, I'm just making it mechanically operational.

The front spring was missing. I bought a new set.

Lots of rust on this chrome handlebar.

And on the rims and spokes.

A lot of work ahead of me for this green machine.

I installed the spring with no problems.

Next I need to add a couple washers to secure this space. Right now the front headset rattles.

Thanks for looking in this restoration thread, sorry for the delay in reply.

The truth is that haven't touched this project since my last post. The current status of this bike remains the same. I bought and traded a few other bicycles and projects since then which distracted me from this one.

usafman, what type of bicycle are you getting? What style frame; BMX, freestyle, stingray . . . ?

lowriderhouse, thanks for the tip. I have some steel wool in the garage now.
